LetsDoItAgain was founded in the year 2000, coinciding with the dawn of the new millennium. Claude Willis, founder and president, active community member and proud North Prestonian, says people have always been biased towards North Preston, Nova Scotia. Due to the poor decisions of some, the whole community gets painted as “bad boys”. He feels quite strongly that a lot of coloured kids end up being labelled at-risk and that can severely damage their futures.
Larry Sparks, founder and vice-president, has been friends with Claude for almost 40 years, and says they have always felt compelled to help people and give back to their community.
From dressing up as Santa Claus at community centers 20 years ago, to hosting charity dinner-dances, the two men have come a very long way. Their desire to make a difference in people’s lives, however, remains unchanged.
